Buddy Holly Was A Geek, Not A Creep.

Buddy Holly – “Everyday”

Buddy Holly was creepy.

I have to make this VERY clear: I Love Buddy Holly.

The first Rock and Roll that I intentionally listened to was NOT the Beatles, Not the Rolling Stones, and Not the Who. It was mutha fuckn Buddy Holly. I learned how to load my Dad’s reel-to-reel tape player with Buddy Holly’s Greatest Hits. Like I said, I Love Buddy Holly. But good lord, christ almighty, when used in a soundtrack like “We Need to Talk ABout Kevin”, songs like “Everyday” become far weirder than I think poor Buddy could have ever imagined. David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino should be ashamed for not recognizing how creepy this song could be in the correct context.

Can you say “Glockenspiel”?

I play bass with The Fashion Slaves and Engine 88. Engine 88 is playing Riot Fest 2017 in Chicago along with Jawbreaker and a bunch of other great bands. The songs I posted here inspire me and rock my socks. You have to listen to all of it.
